Originally bid as a Plan & Spec job, this mechanical renovation was $200,000 over-budget. Through working with the consultants and vendors we were able to bring this project into budget using alternate equipment selections and prefabrication which turned into a contract and successful project for our not-for-profit customer. This ultimately turned into a long-term relationship with this customer as well as service and PM agreements.

This project was a complete overhaul of the existing boiler plant and chilled water system. The new system would achieve a major tax incentive for our customer because of the improved efficiency. It consisted of replacing the aged system with a new, simultaneous heating and cooling water to ground water heat pump. Because of the extreme cold in this area two condensing boilers were added for back-up heating. All of the piping infrastructure and fourteen air handlers were replaced all while keeping the facility open for business through the two-year construction project.
